(Office of the Governor General of New Zealand) This morning (29 September 2022), Dame Cindy received a farewell call from HE Mr Leasi Papali'i Tommy Scanlan, High Commissioner for the Independent State of Samoa, and his wife Mrs Joyce Scanlan. Mr Scanlan had been High Commissioner for just over 10 years, making him the longest-serving Head of Mission in New Zealand at the time. He was also Dean of the Diplomatic Corps since 2017. We wish him all the best for the future.
